Bad Sales for Christmas Hits

What's wrong with all the shoppers this year? It's as though they're actually being creative with their gifts (or maybe just cheap) and buying their kids or whoever old games or special games instead of the big one the companies are all pushing for their Christmas sales. For instance, the PS3's big exclusive right now is Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, and it had pretty disappointing sales figures for when it was released. Super Mario Galaxy, clearly the frontrunner for the Wii, undersold as well. The 360 doesn't have a big game for Christmas really, they're still probably pumping Bioshock and Halo 3, but Mass Effect is a new one that's not getting as much attention as it might should.

I guess I don't have much of a point here in the end, but why are the big, new games underselling when it's Christmas? It's as if the Christmas season for video games has shifted to early the next year now, when Metal Gear Solid 4 and other big, delayed games are going to finally come out. Save up your Christmas card money, kids.
